The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the date sheet for Class 10th and 12th board exams in January 2018. Sources close to the board revealed that the date sheet for March 2018 examinations would be delayed this year. Due to the upcoming Karnataka legislative assembly elections, the declaration of the exam date sheet is getting delayed. As of now, Times Now stated that the date sheet for CBSE Class 10th and 12th 2018 board exams may be released by January 10, 2018.
An official confirmation regarding the same is yet to be made. As per a press release sent out by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) the date sheets were said to be withheld until the election results are declared. Elections in four states of India in 2017 were one of the reasons why the board exams were delayed and date sheet released late.
For the previous session as well, CBSE had released the date sheets on January 9, 2017. Board exams for Class 10 were held from March 9 to April 10 and Class 12 exam was held from March 9 till April 29.
The delay in the announcement of the date sheet has caused anxiety among the teachers and students. Experts are sure about the fact that the date sheet would be released by the second week of January as further delay would result in students' time for preparation. Sources have also hinted that the first exam paper for Class 10 board examination in the next session may not be English, unlike previous years.
